I had gone through a domestic violence situation, so I was living in my dad’s unfinished basement with my three children. That’s when I met The Care Service.
My case worker helped me set healthy, achievable short and long term goals. She understood the system and helped me get groceries until I was approved for food stamps. She helped me get vouchers, resources, and furniture for my children. It was great knowing someone I could trust.
Since then, things have been amazingly better! I got a job, moved into a rental house, and now my kids are excited about the school year. Right now, I don’t meet with my case worker like I used to, but I can still reach back out. It’s been good–a friend when I needed it.
