Food Pantry

Food is among the most basic of human needs. The Care Service operates three food pantries that provide nutritious food, personal care items, and cleaning supplies to the individuals and families who rely on us. In addition to our St. Charles food pantry location, we also operate a pantry in Elsberry, and a mobile food pantry with scheduled stops in areas defined as food deserts in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren Counties.

I can have food on the table every day for my daughter, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don’t have to worry anymore about how I’m going to feed my child. It’s not just about food, it’s not just about housing, it’s making you believe in yourself again.

All three pantries are “client choice” – allowing our shoppers to know we trust their ability to make their own choices. Our pantries provide more than food and other items. They are a critical part of our relationship with our clients. When visiting one of our pantries each week, they interact with staff and volunteers and develop a sense of stability and relationships that many of them lack. The items provided by the food pantries boost the household’s financial resources by making funds available for other necessities like transportation and healthcare.

  • Meal Maker Kits

    When shopping in our Food Pantry, clients can now pick up a Meal Maker Kit. Each kit includes all the non-perishable ingredients needed for a healthy recipe, along with the recipe itself. To complete the necessary ingredients, The Care Service will provide the perishable items necessary for the recipe.

    • Current Food Pantry Hours

    Call 636-441-1302 if you are in need of food and are not a currently registered Food Pantry client. This will allow us to assist you quickly and have the correct amount of food ready for distribution.

    4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
